This earring represents a grass-roots Yobel empowerment project and is made primarily by the women of Canaan farm who have lost their homes and livelihood to a 23-yr-long Civil War in Northern Uganda. This project offers hope and a future to these women in need of hope, school fees for their many children and daily necessities as they attempt to recover from the horrors of war.  Proceeds from earring sales benefit displaced women and their families, as well as former child-soldiers and help provide them with basic needs, job training, school fees, and eventually a much-needed primary school.
